Topic Tuesday: I have already had an abnormal pap. Should I still get the HPV vaccine?

Yes! If you have had an abnormal pap, you have likely been exposed to at least one strain of HPV. Unfortunately, there are many different HPV strains. Some types of HPV cause cancer and others cause genital warts. The Gardasil Vaccine will protect you against nine of the most common HPV strains, so it is recommended even if you have had an abnormal pap smear
